I started out wanting to make a gingerbread house from scratch with E. My mom convinced me to try a kit with her first, as I have never made a gingerbread house before. So, I decided to do a train kit so that we could then still make our house. However the experience proved once again that moms know best. E and I had a blast putting it all together...but one premade train was enough fun for me. Maybe I'll be more ambitious next year. The premade stuff was yuck-o to eat. When the train went to its 'time tunnel', it looked almost the same as it does in the picture. E didn't particularly like any of the candies and the gingerbread was unpalatable.
Our Christmas Countdown. Every day we took a candy cane off of the tree and replaced it with a 'bulb' from the calendar. We had a little piece of the Christmas story to read each day too. It worked great for E to countdown the days until Christmas...and it made a nice decoration for the wall. :) Hopefully, I'll remember to take a picture of the finished product before we take it down.
The calendar of 'bulbs'...we replaced the bulb on the calendar with a little book containing a portion of the Christmas story.
Our final crafty thing was a family affair...We made reindeer out of our hand and foot prints. Jut was none to excited about the entire business, but the kids had fun with it. The girls have multi-colored faces and the boys were boring with black faces, but I think the boys look more like reindeer. Oh well. That what happens when little girls get to have some artistic freedoms! :)

Once a teacher, always a teacher!
Probably true...we'll be starting 'calendar time' soon, I think. Since it is out and all. :)
